Britain Royal Wedding

Nicholas Van Custem is pictured here with Kate and William as commander of the Captain’s Escort.  Nick was also an Usher at a Wedding I photographed last year..

As one of Prince William’s closest friends since childhood, Nicholas van Cutsem played a key role at the royal wedding.

Van Cutsem, a major with the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards,  commanded the Captain’s Escort of mounted soldiers who accompanied William and Kate Middleton in their carriage from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

The Prince was an usher when Van Cutsem married Alice Hadden-Paton in 2009. Alice was  easy to spot at the abbey, in a purple outfit by Caroline Castigliano, the British designer, who created her bridal gown. The couple’s niece, Grace van Cutsem, was one of Kate’s bridesmaids. Grace was noticeably unimpressed by the Lancaster bomber flying over Buckingham Palace,  she covered her ears to shut out the dreadful racket.

Here is Nick at Rebecca Night and Harry Hadden-Paton’s Wedding.  This was a great fun Wedding for me to Photograph,  It was in Port Issac at Harry’s mum and Dad’s place over looking the Harbor (Dr Martin’s home town).  Harry and Rebecca are both actors and had a cabaret in the evening hosted by there guest.  To see more of my photos from their day see recent weddings on the left hand side of the screen.
